A thriving life and relationship is lived in alignment with Love and Peace and finding our way to that alignment is our quest. Take my hand, let's share the journey! As a counselor, a coach and spiritual guide, I blend psychology, theology, sociology and metaphysics to assist people in the process of coming to the fullness of their promise. My passion is to awaken participation in life: fully, peacefully and with love. . Tools, training and cognitive restructuring guide the process in coming to fully understand the interactions between one's self, environment and partnerships. Changes and adaptations follow naturally. I have been working with sound therapy, Tibetan Bowls, in private sessions as well as community Meditations. I find that while we restructure cognitions and work with issues of the heart and soul - sometimes silent receiving penetrates deeply within and assists healing without mind and issue identification. Stress release and inner peace/empowerment/clearing is a natural by-response to the Bowls and their frequencies. The vision I hold for my work is ever changing. I believe in the evolution of the human spirit toward a love and need for individual truth. I believe in the healing of our planet, and our people. I know my quest is to serve in that arena. Therefore, I walk with people where they are and am honored by the journey they share.....I hold all in my heart. My practice and ministry are planted where ever there is need or desire for Love/Light/Truth/God. My message is Love and my way is Peace. I pray that I will understand more each moment I live how sacred life is in all its forms as I strive to grow in wisdom, reverence and respect. As I grow and mature I pray for increasing integrity in my life. I imagine peace - for myself and the world - that all may know the beauty and perfection of now. My Workshops, Retreats, and Classes are integrating, fun, empowering, motivating and healing. I hold a weekly Sunday Spiritual Circle/Meditation, Meditation Circles during the week, Women's Circles, and A Course in Miracle Study Groups regularly and have recently introduced Full Moon Gatherings. I facilitates events at A Place of Peace Sanctuary and Wellness Center and have drawn together mature and gifted/credential practitioners who work with sensitivity and dedication. As a Metaphysical and an Interfaith Minister, I provide a Place for people who have been disaffected by traditional religious forums but who search for collectively diverse spirituality and community. Sunday Services are Circles of Love...casual and heartfelt. I offer all the services of ministry; Weddings, Funerals, Baby Blessings....Non-traditional Ceremonies. I fully embrace assisting folks who come to me to create both traditional and non-traditional spiritual ceremonies that create a sacred and meaningful experience for their special times. I have been in private practice now for over 25 years and am currently awaiting confirmation of my doctorate in Metaphysical Sciences. I am an Ordained Interfaith Minister as well - ordained at The New Seminary/Interfaith Seminary in New York. I have been an Associate Minister at The Interfaith Fellowship in Thousand Oaks and a member of the Conejo Valley Ecumenical Counsel. I am on the founding Board of Directors for the Council of Interfaith Communities of the United States, now recognized at the table of World Religions. I am a member of Spiritual Directors International as well as seated on the Advisory Board of the Holistic Welness Community Center of Ventura. |

Doug Kierbel, MA, Clinical PsychologyMPA, Public Administration Co-Founder of A Place of Peace 805.794.9917 [email protected] I am Doug Kierbel, Co-founder of A Place of Peace, blessed as husband and father of a wonderful family. I am excited and thrilled to be involved with the creation of A Place of Peace. I have always felt a need to do my part in supporting people to bring about positive change in their lives. In the early 70’s I joined VISTA Volunteers as a full time employee. Thereafter I became the Director of a non-profit community service organization, working with consumer protection and landlord tenant meditation. In the late 70’s I earned my Masters Degree in Public Administration and later in the 90’s my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. In 1978 I became a Labor Relations Specialist at UCLA Medical Center and there I stayed for 23 years. I transferred to University of California at Santa Barbara campus in the same capacity for the next 7 years. I left UCSB in June of 2008 to begin my journey with A Place of Peace. Currently I am working with my wife Teri to help facilitate couples counseling and provide administrative support for the Place of Peace. My excitement with A Place of Peace is that I believe we can build a home for the heart and a place to come to get filled up and connected with others of like mind. I see A Place of Peace as a place that will feed the soul and promote inner peace and happiness. I’m looking forward to where our outreach in the community will take us and all the folks we will meet along the way. I enjoy Teri’s and my sessions with couple’s counseling – we draw on our own journey in love and marriage for our work and I think truly connect with our clients’ healing process. My monthly Drum Circles are a source of outlet for me and others as we connect with tribal music of all time. I look forward to meeting any and all of you. Hope you’ll stop by. Back to Top |
